Let there be light!

Mrs Brinkster has sent me the first picture of the new Worcester Park Christmas lights actually turned on. They should look even better when it gets darker.

Ah yes. Lights always do look better in the dark. Well done Sutton Council - it took long enough to get decent lights in Worcester Park, so musn't grumble!

no disrespect to worcester park blogger[but he doesnt like competition does he]the brinkster seems to be a bit more of a thinker and possisbly doer. i think worcester park is to serious in most approaches.i.e if you steal his thunder i reckon quietly or notso he could be a right handfull.these are only my observations and i beleive they could have been influenced,on part,by my probably rash or tounge in cheek remarks when i first came across these blogs.it wasnt intended in any shape or form and i am not one for character assanations.but i seem to have riled the w pk,and possibly shaken him to his foundations.i hope not..

Thank you for your kind, and probably undeserved, words and knowing the Worcester Park Blogger as I do I know that he can do tongue-in-cheek with the best of them but unfortunately the general problems is that the internet doesn't lend itself to subtlety so humour, irony or sarcasm sometimes has to be laid on with a trowel, shovel and JCB to make it plain, otherwise someone is bound to take it the wrong way and get offended.

There's an enormous amount of information on "Netiquette" (good internet behaviour) so if you Google for it you could quite easily lose a whole morning to it! I know I have ;)

ok brinkster fair dos,and thanks for the reply.but,iwas only commenting in :jest form:because i beleived,wrongly or possibly rightly that i was being attacked very unfairly,and if it wasnt such,then i would of said it seemed like a personal vendetta.in any case me and him did not hit it off; but i couldnt give a monkeys chuff"no wot eats me well did" is the childish way he operated.if you post something me and my freinds feel appropiate and worthy of blogging,he has to view it and if he doesnt like it then- you know the rest.now while i appreciate your comments and pointers,i was not prepared for the scrutinization that he jumps on when you reply to a blog.when he then feels pressured an annoymous reply or probably named one emerges,now i dont know this but it might be pressure from work {maybe he gets bullied or undermined frequently}but it can happen to anyone..so come on wpk,stiff upper lip and all that caper.... be daring be bold let it be print,even if it does outwit you dont take yourself so seriously.in the words of jim macdonold; {catch yourself on}

Understood. Someone once said the best way to start an argument on the internet is to express an opinion and I suspect they're right. It seems like there are people whose main purpose in life seems to be to scour the internet searching for people who are different in any way and pick on them for no obvious reason, in fact perhaps I'll post about it soon.

Do keep on posting comments as I appreciate having different points-of-view rather than all the same stuff and you know whole parts of the area outside my usual patch!!

yes well done brinkster we can safley say,well on my part at least its over and done with now,lifes to short.. i notice and i am not being brash,but judgeing from your comments you like your food,and why not.considering we are meant to do 8 hours sleeping 8 hours working,why not a few hours of indulgence now and again.your list of recomended and notso,would have read nearly identical to mine.but what with traffic and work commitments at this time of year chaos and lack of appetite ensues,which normally results in eating late with bad feelings earlyin the morning.apart from a little known pub at the back of banstead but before chipsead. the pub i beleive is called the mint and has a delightfull selection of dishes in a very relaxed manner.if someone doesnt drive there forget it but if they do you get super 3 course meal for about £12 we have dined with our kids there but i prefer to sneak out without them,normally when the footballs on and unless they read this blog i dont think they have missed us yet.. the mint park road banstead sm7-3ds 01737362785

Thanks for the tip about The Mint! I'll put it on my list of places to eat.

So many restaurants... so little time!!
